Every once in a while, do yourself (and those around you) a favor and take a break from social media and other things (and people) who induce stress, unrest, uneasiness and polarizing points of view. Removing content that is centered on anger, fear, hate and blame will do you good and will help you rebalance your priorities and focus on …
Questionable career choices
Know your pitch and don’t lie to your audience, whether they are prospective or current clients. By the way, this exchange took place in January of 2020 at my previous university in Jersey City, NJ.
Things one shouldn’t do on LinkedIn
As always, one man’s point of view, but let’s highlight some of the major areas of concern I see on this, otherwise, very valuable network. 1. Don’t SPAM people. If we have connected, don’t sell me your product or service within 60 seconds of me accepting your invitation. 2. Don’t endorse people you don’t know. This should be obvious, yet …
Constant complainers and how to deal with them
While there are many ways to address those who constantly complain (while not contributing nearly as much), this is one of many ways I have found valuable over the course of my career. Try it and let me know what you think. Also, share other ideas on how to contain and minimize negativity and constant complaints without any constructive ideas …
Jumping to conclusions
Experience is a great teacher, but it can at times lead us to jump to a conclusion which is inaccurate. Instead, do your best to remain cool, calm and collected, gather evidence and research the problem before taking any radical actions.

Courtesy is not consent. If someone is kind to you and answers your e-mail or a message on LinkedIn that does not mean they have agreed to meet with you, have a call or to be added to your mailing list.
Don’t compare yourself to others
While it is valuable to be inspired by the actions of others, one should never attempt to emulate and recreate someone else’s life or career. Instead, focus on being the best version of yourself and live your life and forge new paths on your journey into the unknown.
Cross the finish line
We all have projects, goals and potential accomplishments which have dragged on for way too long. Some of them are 90% done, yet we have spent the last year, or two without any major progress from that point in time. Why is this the case? Are we no longer interested, motivated, inspired? Do we have other priorities? Whatever the reasons …
Working 9 to 5? Why?
How many of us work or have worked the hours of 9 AM to 5 PM? I would guess quite a few. How many of us have asked why are those the hours we work and are they truly the only preferred (available) option? I would wager to say, not as many. If you are leading a team, provide your …
