CIOs are joining Boards of Directors

Technology is a the core of nearly everything we do in modern business and as such it needs to be considered as one of the greatest opportunity and difference makers around. With this in mind, it is natural to see more and more technology executives, most frequently Chief Information Officers (CIOs) joining both boards and top management teams. These teams vary in constitution, responsibilities and names based on the industry or organization that you are a part of, but generally their main purpose is to set the vision and direction of your business.

Most commonly they are refereed to as Boards (Broads of Directors, Boards of Trustees, Boards of Regents, Advisory Boards…) or Cabinets (President’s Cabinet, Executive Cabinet…) and it is where the decisions are made that will have the greatest impact on the overall success and future of your business. If you are a CIO, THAT’s where you want to be so do all you can to earn your spot.
