HSBC’s system maintenance

HSBC service unavailableDéjà vu…I tried to access an account in the middle of a business day and wasn’t able to do so. Back in November I had a similar, but much stranger experience accessing an Aetna web account. Today, around noon or so I tried logging in to HSBC Direct, I got in, but couldn’t get an eStatement which is what I really need at that point. After trying from 2 computers and 4 different web browsers I called their tech support and was told that their entire system is undergoing regular scheduled maintenance and that it should be back up by 3 PM EST. It is now, 3:53 PM and I still can’t use their online services.

What is it with IT departments scheduling stuff in the middle of a business day, or could it be that they are some 10+ hours ahead and it’s already Saturday morning there (India)?

    Yeah, I know. You’ve been telling me to do it for a while now. I will have to look into it soon. Thanks for the reminder. 🙂
