Happy New Year, again

Srpska Nova GodinaTonight we welcome the new year, again. As I mentioned last week, Orthodox haven’t changed their calendar and as such still celebrate New Year on January 13th. Actually, we celebrate both equally as it is nice to have two opportunities to welcome new year and party two weeks apart. Not that we really need any special reason to have fun, but we’ll take any excuse that we can get. 😉

In order to try to show you how big tonight gets here’s a brief video from two years ago from one of the main squares in Belgrade, Serbia. This video was recorded in front of the Serbian Parliament where over 500,000 people gathered to celebrate the new year (similar events take place throughout Belgrade and other cities).

Happy new year to all who will celebrate tonight. Be safe, have fun and go easy on rakija. 🙂
