Fully agree…please fix FF. I’m staring at the search box where the autocomplete has gotten stuck halfway down the page…can’t get it to go away.

well that depends who you talk to. Unfortunately, for some software developers, it’s the only option.

I’ve tweaked this OS (Vista) as well, but it is not the only OS I experience sluggishness on. Also, considering the number of other people complaining about the same thing, something has definitely gone awry in their code.

I haven’t tried the Preloaded, but then again I shouldn’t have to do so if they want to be a serious competitor and produce a competitive product (might give it a shot anyway in hopes that it will help). I use NoScript and Ad-block and a number of other add-ons, but the difference in performance clearly became noticeable with version 3.5.

Hopefully you are right, and we’ll have (once again) a stable release of Firefox (whatever the version it might be).

As for the start up times of Firefox I use the Firefox Preloader ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffpreloader/ ). This application pre-loads firefox at system startup and the browser itself then starts in under 3 seconds, the same load time as IE.

When it comes to page load times, I have the NoScript ( http://noscript.net/ ) extension in my browser which is blocking all of the extra background sites and scripts from loading.

But I guess none of that should matter, the browser shouldn’t be slow for normal use, and most web forums are showing a lot of people complaining about the new release. It seems as Mozilla products are getting larger they are going the same route as most large companies and are releasing beta software into the wild as production versions. As such all should be good by Firefox 3.5.5 which should be the version by the end of the year.
