Appearances can be deceiving

This morning as I was going through RSS feeds and Google Alerts I came across an article that really caught my attention. It speaks about a professor accused of genocide in his home country of Rwanda. That on it’s own is a strange and worrisome info (if proven true), but what makes it even worse is the fact that he used to work here! Here, as in the same university I work for. He actually worked in our college and was located in our building.

Furthermore, my team and I provided him with a laptop and support for his IT related needs. He was a frequent visitor of our office. While here he was a very quiet man who didn’t get into trouble or annoy people which is what makes this news even more shocking. Other than several PICNIC problems, he appeared to be a normal, average university professor.

This was a surprising story to come across and it further strengthens the fact that no matter how hard you try some people will always have secrets tucked away in their past.
