I think we in the West (UK in my case) often don't realise that the pursuit of wealth is not the same as the pursuit of happiness. What kind of a mad situation is it that we have to learn how to balance our lives? Mainland Europe seems to have it about right, but right now here in the UK we are a stressed, dissatisfied nation.
